Producer Requirements
These Natural Program requirements must be met in addition to the rules for the base South Dakota Certified Enrolled Cattle™ program.
Treatment Records
- Treatment records must be kept to document the use of restricted antibiotic drugs
- The minimum information to record includes:
- Date of the treatment
- Product that was administered
- Individual identification of the treated animal
- If calves aren't individually identified at birth, they must be identified at the time of treatment
- Treatment records must be available to auditors during onsite inspections
Producer Evaluations
- Must be conducted onsite at the producer’s premises
- Areas that may be examined include:
- Feed storage areas
- Feeding equipment
- Medication storage areas
Annual Audits
- Automatic annual audit
- Treatment records will be compared with enrollment and transfer records to ensure treated anmals are not misrepresented
- Feed and medication storage areas may be examined
